PALM SPRINGS VACATION; Summer 2011 with my GIRLS

MY BIRTHDAY is in JULY, so I LOVE SUMMER ...

Took my GIRLS ... all of them ... on a ROAD TRIP to PALM SPRINGS, CALIFORNIA !!!

ROAD TRIP !!!

I made all my girls "matching" ... but different" sundresses JUST for this trip to PALM SPRINGS
I had little toddler size sun-dresses that I got at the dollar store, in GREEN, BLUE, and ORANGE,
So I made each of them in different styles ...

Just some fun photo shoots we had ... Granted, at this time, I had not studied as much about the photography of my specific camera  ... Canon G10 ... so these shots are just not that great ...  Plus the fact that I felt "rushed" and hurried for these shoots ... and I do not like the way they look like "dolls" ... just stiff-limbed items placed in a frame.

HOPEFULLY when it comes time to sell my fashions, I will be able to do a better job :)

ENTERING PALM SPRINGS ... There is an awesome PALM SPRINGS sign
I just had to stop ....
even though it was about 110 degrees!
And of COURSE all the girls kept falling over ... It was quite horrible actually
but I HAD TO GET THAT PICTURE !!!

TOO, this is on the MAIN HIGHWAY with all the traffic going by ... !!!

My Little NENETL ...

PHOTO SHOOT
I took pics of all the girls together in their Summer White crochet dresses
and each one separately ...
This is my ADG Aztec Arrival Blythe:  NENETL
After her major hair cut, too.

I TRIED to get the "yellow tint" out of this pic ... but NOPE ...
This is MOLLY
(my Little Big Eyes; Grape hair doll)

This is KIRSTYN;
She is wearing Barbie pearly-white ankle boots

My little LENA
in her new Disney Fairy body
(that is why her dress looks so huge on her ...)

BERTHA BELLE:
Little Big Eyes Lemon Hair Doll

EmAly EriKa:
At least I LIKE the way she is posed in this pic ...
(she is my 2nd Little Big Eyes Grape hair doll;
now wearing her ash-blonde extensions)

AshLeigh:
Wearing a crochet mini-dress,
over a tube skirt (which is actually a dime-store tube-headband, that I cut to size)

Jay~Anna:
Her hair looks SO BRIGHT in this pic ..
she, too, has her NEW Disney Fairy body.
She is wearing one of the "Bridesmaids" dresses I am working on;
re-purposed from a white lacy knit top; I added crochet at top and scallopped edging at bottom)

CAYLEE CAMRYN CANE:
She has the Blybe body now;
I replaced her spindly limb body (CCE)
She is also wearing one of my "Bridesmaid" dresses
I am working on ...

MY GIRLS:
WHAT a weird picture ...
I was RUSHED at this time, trying to hurry and place them all...
I simply do NOT like the way they all look dis-jointed,
I have SO MUCH to learn !!!

PERSONALITY PLUS

DO YOUR GIRLS HAVE THEIR OWN PERSONALITIES???

OF COURSE THEY DO !

But .... HOW is this possible ????

When I first discovered Blythe ... and the "eye changing dolls" ... I had to "laugh" at all the folks I kept seeing on flickr, who were talking "for" their girls, acting as it ....

but then ... WAIT a second ...

From the VERY MOMENT when I received my very first LBE .... she DEFINITELY had a mood ... and attitude ... even on the auction site ad where I purchased her ... and I KNEW RIGHT THEN I had to have her!

Fast-forward to having LBE dolls with the SAME color hair (2 lemon; 2 jet black; 2 grape ...) and THEY ARE EACH SOOOOO DIFFERENT!!!!!

ADD to that, their little expressions AFTER I carved them, added their own INDIVIDUALLY HAND-MADE EYE CHIPS ... and well ...

They DO HAVE THEIR OWN PERSONALITIES !!!  THAT is why I believe the Blythe world is so huge, and so STRONG!

I made little PERSONALITY POSTERS of my GIRLS:

She was actually NAMED after a VERY SCHOLARLY YOUNG LADY,
who was attending USC

I had no idea when I braided her hair for her boil perms,
that I would LOVE HER IN THIS HAIRSTYLE SO MUCH,
that I would KEEP HER THIS WAY ...
she always looks SO SPORTY ...

Camryn is now:
CAYLEE CAMRYN CANE
.....named after that poor, dear, sweet FL girl who will be

FOREVER  A  LITTLE  BABY .....

She truly IS ... our little GHOST ... as she did come back from the "dead"
(I committed accidental dolly-cide on her,
but then RESURRECTED HER into this GHOST ... )

DOES SHE or DOES SHE NOT ... look JUST LIKE A DEBUTANTE ?????
Perfect as GRACE KELLY as well ...

"SOMETHING" about her RASPBERRY HAIR ...
Makes you think of love, Love, LOVE .....

MAYBE its the eye make-up I put on her ....

PLUS she is named after the ULTIMATE FLIRT EVER ....

YEP, just look at her SWEET LITTLE FACE !!!

(my 2nd lemon hair LBE ... yet oh, SO DIFFERENT .....)

SOMETHING about the way I carved her mouth into a shape
that every time I look at her,
she looks like MISCHIEF ..... A LITTLE "IMP" .....

MY VERY FIRST REAL BLYTHE ...

THE TRUE MEANING OF "INGENUE" .....

YOUNG, FRESH, INNOCENT ...

THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING .....

BEFORE and AFTER: DOLLY FOOTWEAR

HERE are some of my BEFORE-AND-AFTER shoes, boots, etc. that I have created for my GIRLS:

Standard chunky Mary-Janes and a bit of GLITTER ...

. . . RUBY SLIPPERS !!!!

Standard athletic / tennis shoes:
TRANSFORMED into OXFORD / SADDLE SHOES!

BLACK PLATFORM MARY-JANES:
I cut off the straps, and added a loop in the back by the heel area;
threaded a satin ribbon through, for a little LACE-UP STYLE PARTY SHOE

Platform Mary-Janes:
PAINTED them all white;  then painted the bottom portion GLOSS BLACK.
The silver buckles are metal o-rings from costume jewelry,
painted silver, coated in craft glue, and dipped in silver glitter dust;
then glued on after all paint on shoes dried.

Generic brand fashion doll boots.
I painted them with opalescent paint.
Added a white satin ribbon that I crocheted lace
(very thin crochet thread)
Added a pre-made matching white satin bow,
and 3 opalescent rhinestones on the back.

BARBIE BOOT:
Simply added a row of CRAFT FUR to the top edge
(back of boots were slit with x-acto knife slightly,
and fur goes from slit to slit, not an enclosed circle)

Stock BARBIE ankle boot BLACK:
PAINTED ORANGE
Covered in BRIGHT FUSCHIA GLITTER
(The hard part was making the little RUFFLE out of BRIGHT ORANGE ORGANZA RIBBON,
then gluing THAT onto the boot,
then covering it all with a flat piece of orange organza, tied with a bow in the back .. !

THESE mary-janes were made for the X-LARGE, FLAT-FOOTED Barbie mold
(I originally thought they would be perfect for my LBE dolls ... they are WAY too huge for BLYTHE )
So, I transformed them into
EMERALD SLIPPERS !!!

I made PINK BALLET SLIPPERS
adorned with PINK ROSES and CELERY AND ROSE satin ties
out of these stock purple ballet flats ...

COOL RAIN BOOTS
(just a simple PAINT job !  )

Made these TRADITIONAL BLACK-AND-WHITE
OXFORD / SADDLE SHOES
from athletic shoes;  craft foam soles ...
PAINTED the soles a brick-rust color like the originals ...

For these FUN red-and-white saddle shoes,
I used an old BLACK LEATHER BELT for the soles
cut with an exacto knife and glued onto the bottoms ...

PINK and WHITE Version

ALL I did for these was to GLUE ON flat-back PINK PEARLS

For the TURQUOISE version ...

I ADDED A LITTLE GLITTER for pizzaz !

as usual .... THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS !!!!!
